Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
FairTurns is run by ARKNET PTY LTD (ABN 17 233 494 783), Queensland, Australia. “We” and “us” mean ARKNET PTY LTD. “You” means the person using FairTurns and, where you act for an organisation, that organisation too.
By creating an account, joining an organisation or paying for Pro, you agree to these terms. If you agree for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to.
2. Your account and your organisation
You are responsible for everything done on your account and in organisations you run, including by people you add. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and give us an email address that works.
Administrators decide who is added, what is put on the roster and whether it is shown on a public link. You must have the right to add the people and details you add, and to email the people you invite. Telling them how their details are used is your responsibility.
3. How FairTurns may be used
Use FairTurns lawfully. Do not use it to send unwanted email, to harass anyone, to attack, overload or probe it, to get around its limits or billing, to copy or resell it, or in a way that puts it at risk for others.
4. Free and Pro
FairTurns is free to use. We may change, limit or stop any part of the free plan at any time.
Pro is paid per organisation, in advance, for one to five years at the price shown when you pay. Australian prices include GST; elsewhere, any local tax is yours. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store the full card number.
If you leave automatic renewal on, the saved card is charged a few days before Pro ends for another term of the same length as the last one (or the length chosen on the Plan tab), at the price then shown. You can turn it off on the organisation’s Plan tab at any time before it is charged. If a renewal cannot be charged, the organisation goes back to the free plan when the paid term ends.
We may change Pro prices and what Pro includes. A price change never affects a term already paid.
5. Refunds
Payments are not refundable. The one exception is a payment taken by mistake, such as being charged twice for the same thing; tell us within 60 days and we refund the mistaken charge.
This does not take away any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
6. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account or organisation, without notice, if these terms are broken, if it puts FairTurns or others at risk, or if the law requires it. Nothing paid is refunded in that case.
7. What is yours and what is ours
What you put into FairTurns stays yours. You let us store it, process it and show it to the people it is meant for (including on a public roster you switch on), only to run FairTurns. The software, the site and the FairTurns name are ours.
8. No promises
FairTurns is provided as it is and as available. We do not promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that any email reaches anyone. You are responsible for checking your roster and making sure people know when they are on. Do not rely on FairTurns as the only arrangement where a missed turn would matter.
9. Limits on what we owe
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss from a missed, wrong or changed turn, a lost email, or anything on a roster. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what your organisation paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
You agree to cover us for claims made against us because of what you put into FairTurns or how you used it.
Nothing in these terms limits a right or liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using FairTurns after a change means you accept it.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and its courts.
