How it works
- 01
Create your organisation
and a team for each kind of job.
- 02
Add people
by email, with a join link, or just by name.
- 03
Click a day to add a date
set the times, choose how it repeats, and FairTurns keeps it 3 to 12 months ahead.
- 04
Put people on
by hand, or press Fill: each empty place goes to whoever has had the fewest turns, skipping anyone who has marked that day away.
Everyone sees it ahead of time.
Turn on the public roster link and anyone with it can see the list or the calendar on their phone — no sign-in, nothing to install. Send it to the group chat or pin it up.
People with an account also get Your next dates under the calendar: their own turns, first.
Fair means open.
Fair isn’t everyone getting exactly the same. It’s everyone seeing the roster ahead of time. FairTurns shares the dates out and shows its working — the turns each person has, and who gains or loses a date before anything changes. You decide what fair looks like for your group.
Pro — when you want it to run itself.
Replying to dates
People answer “I can do it” or “I can’t make it”, in the app or straight from the email.
Roster emails
The schedule to the team, a reminder before each date, and a note to the moderators when someone can’t make it.
Filling by itself
New dates get people put on them, and when someone can’t make it the next person in line is asked.
How often
Set each person to More often, Normal, Less often or Now and then, position by position.
A$1 a month per organisation, paid 1 to 5 years at a time.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything you need to run a roster is free, with no limit on teams, people or dates. Pro adds roster emails and automatic filling for A$1 a month per organisation.
Do people need an account to see the roster?
No. Turn on the public roster link and anyone with it can see the list or calendar without signing in.
Can people say which days they can’t do?
Yes. Anyone can mark the days they’re away, free: one date, a stretch, or a regular day like every first Sunday. Fill leaves them off those days. The organiser still puts people on, so nobody books themselves, and with Pro people can also say “I can do it” or “I can’t make it” for the dates they are on.
Does it send reminders?
With Pro, yes: the schedule to the team on a day you choose, and a reminder before each date. The free plan sends no roster emails.
Why does Pro cost money?
Sending email and doing work every hour on your behalf costs money to run and attracts abuse. Pro pays for running it — one small price for everybody.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It was designed for phones first and works in browsers back to about 2017.
Who can see my data?
People in your organisation see the teams they are on; administrators see everything. The public roster shows only who is on and when. There are no ads and no tracking.
