Team duties roster template
A team duties roster for parents, round by round
Not who plays, but who brings the oranges, keeps score and washes the jerseys. One row per round, one column per job, a family name in each box.

The jobs behind every game
Every junior team runs on a handful of parent jobs, and most coaches end up doing them because nobody was asked. A team duties roster spreads them across the families for the season. This one is for the jobs, not the players: who plays where is the coach’s business.
The example is the Under 11 Hawks, 14 families, a 16-round season. Four jobs a week means each family does roughly four or five jobs over the year. Write the venue on each row, because the away-game jobs feel different: nobody wants to wash jerseys after a two-hour round trip, so many teams give the jersey bag to a home-game family.
Rules worth writing on the sheet
| Job | Who can do it | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Oranges and water | Any family | Cut at home, bring in a container with a lid |
| Scorer | Any adult who has been shown once | Pair a new scorer with someone who knows the card |
| Goal umpire | Adults only, per most club rules | Check whether your club needs a course |
| Wash jerseys | Any family with a washing machine | Cold wash, hang dry, back in the bag |
| First aid | Parents with a current certificate | Keep a separate short list of who qualifies |
Families with two children in the team usually get one set of duties, not two. Agree that at the start and put it in the note line.
One link for the team chat
The paper copy lives in the team bag and gets soggy by round six. In FairTurns, set up a team for the Hawks, add each job as a position, and add families by name. Set game day to repeat each Saturday, press Fill for the season, and each job goes to whoever has had the fewest turns at it. Only the parents set up for goal umpire or first aid get those jobs. Families mark the weekends they’re away, and the public link in the team chat shows every family their rounds. Free. See the junior sport parent roster for how other clubs run it, and the canteen roster template if the club canteen needs a sheet too.
Questions
Is this a player roster?
No, it’s for parent duties on game day. For team selections and positions on the field, use your club’s team sheet; this sits alongside it.
What about bye rounds?
Leave the bye out of the roster, or write it in with no names so families don’t wonder. In a live roster, cancel that one date and it can be brought back if the draw changes.
Can the coach and manager be on it?
Usually they’re left off, since they already give every game. Say so on the sheet so nobody feels they’re getting special treatment.
Does it work for netball, basketball or cricket?
Yes. Change the jobs: bench official and timekeeper for netball, scorer and bowling umpire for cricket. The layout stays the same.
