Church cleaning roster
Cleaning, flowers and morning tea, each on its own rhythm
Morning tea happens every week, the hall gets a proper clean every second Saturday and the flowers change on the first weekend of the month. FairTurns keeps all three on one calendar and shares the turns out across the people willing to help.
Free, with no limit on people or dates. No card.
The jobs nobody notices until they’re not done
Nobody thanks the person who wiped down the hall benches or remembered the milk for morning tea, but everybody notices when the urn is cold and the vase on the front table has been dead for a week. These are the rosters that run on a few faithful people and a sheet taped inside the kitchen cupboard.
The trouble is the rhythm. Morning tea is weekly, cleaning is fortnightly, the flowers are monthly and the gutters are twice a year. One table on paper can’t hold all of that, so the coordinator keeps it in her head and fields the phone calls.

How FairTurns keeps the hall and kitchen going
Each job its own team
Morning tea, Cleaning and Flowers each get a team and a colour, so the calendar shows at a glance what is happening which weekend.
Each its own repeat
Morning tea “Every week on Sunday”, cleaning “Every second Saturday”, flowers “Every first Saturday of the month”. Set each once.
Pairs for the bigger jobs
Set Cleaning to 2 people and Morning tea to 2 people, and every date gets two places to fill.
Turns shared out
Fill gives each place to whoever has had the fewest turns in that job, so the same two aren’t always doing the dishes.
People without email
Many of the best helpers don’t use email. Add them by name and they appear on the printed roster like everyone else.
Special weekends
Add the working bee, the Easter flowers or the after-funeral tea as a one-off date and press Fill again.

When you want it to run itself
On Pro, helpers who have accepted an invitation get a reminder email a few days before their turn, which is when people remember to buy the milk or order the flowers. If they can’t make it they say so from the email and the next person in line is asked.
A$1 a month per organisation, paid 1 to 5 years at a time. See Pro and pricing
Good to know
- Put the job in the team or position name, such as “Morning tea: milk, urn, wash-up”. Dates don’t carry checklists, and a short name on the roster works as a reminder.
- For seasonal jobs like gutters or the big spring clean, a one-off date twice a year is easier than a repeat.
- Helpers don’t pick their own weekends. You put them on and they mark the weekends they’re away; FairTurns works around those.
- Paying for the flowers or the milk stays with your usual reimbursement. FairTurns only says whose turn it is.
Questions
Can the flower roster run monthly while cleaning is fortnightly?
Yes. Each team has its own dates and its own repeat. Flowers can be every first Saturday of the month and cleaning every second Saturday, side by side on the same calendar.
Someone only wants to do flowers. Can I keep them off cleaning?
Yes. Put them only in the Flowers team, or limit them to the flowers position. Fill only puts people where they are set up to help.
How do I print a roster for the kitchen?
Open the calendar in list view, or the public roster link, and print the page. It shows the dates, times and names in a plain list.
What if morning tea doesn’t happen on some Sundays?
Cancel just that date. Everyone else stays on their Sundays, and the cancelled date can be brought back if plans change.
Is this a church cleaning roster template I can print?
Yes, there is a free printable cleaning roster template on this site. When you want the turns counted for you and one link to share, the FairTurns app is free too.
