Worship team roster
A worship team roster that knows who plays what
Your drummer can’t play keys and your newest vocalist isn’t ready to lead. FairTurns rosters the band position by position, only with people set up for each one, and shows the band the whole term on one link.
Free, with no limit on people or dates. No card.
The band roster is a puzzle with one drummer
A music roster isn’t a list of names. Every Sunday needs a leader, someone on keys, a guitarist, a drummer and two or three singers, and most people only play one or two of those. Ben drums and sings harmony. Yuki plays keys but won’t lead. Hannah leads every week if you let her, and then she burns out by June.
So the worship leader spends a Sunday afternoon each month juggling a spreadsheet, texting to check who’s around for Easter, and finding out on Thursday at rehearsal that the bass player is in Cairns.

How FairTurns rosters a band
Positions for every part
Add Worship leader, Keys, Acoustic guitar, Electric guitar, Bass, Drums and Vocals, each with a headcount (“Vocals, 2 people”).
Only the parts they play
Limit each musician to their positions. Fill never puts the drummer on keys, and someone with no limits can be put on anything.
Turns counted per position
Each empty place goes to whoever has had the fewest turns in that position, so leading doesn’t fall to the same person every week.
Two services, one band
Add the 8:30 and 10:30 as two dates on the Sunday, turn on Same person all day, and the two bands stay the same. If someone can only do one, just that time goes to somebody else.
Away weeks marked ahead
Musicians mark the Sundays they’re away, or a regular pattern like the third Sunday of each month, and Fill leaves them off.
The term on one page
The band sees every Sunday this term on the public roster link, so the set list and the rehearsal plan can start early.

When you want it to run itself
With Pro you can set how often each person plays, position by position: an experienced leader on More often, a new vocalist on Now and then while they find their feet. Musicians who have accepted an invitation get a reminder before their Sunday and can say “I can’t make it” from the email, and the next player in line for that part is asked.
A$1 a month per organisation, paid 1 to 5 years at a time. See Pro and pricing
Good to know
- Roster the band a term ahead. Musicians plan holidays early, and the leader can plan songs for the people who are actually on.
- Rehearsal can be its own date in the same team, with the same people put on by hand, or simply a fixed night everyone knows.
- You place the musicians; they don’t pick their own Sundays. If a player wants a particular week, put them on by hand and Fill works around it.
- A date holds a name and times, not a set list or chord charts. Keep those wherever your band keeps them now.
Questions
Can one person be rostered on two parts, like guitar and vocals?
Yes. Set the person up for both positions. Fill puts them on one part per date, and you can add them to a second part by hand when you want them to do both.
How do I train up a new player without throwing them in alone?
Put them on by hand alongside a regular player for a few Sundays, then set them up for the position so Fill starts including them. With Pro you can set them to Now and then while they settle in.
Does the band roster clash with the sound roster?
Within one church, Fill never puts a person on two teams at overlapping times. If your guitarist also runs sound, they won’t be given both at 9:00.
What about Easter and Christmas?
Add the extra services as one-off dates with Just this once, set their times, and press Fill again. Nobody already on is moved.
Is it free for a small band?
Yes. Teams, positions, Fill, away days and the public link are free with no limits. Pro is A$1 a month for the whole church.
