A team is one group that takes turns: the boat shed at Harbour Rowing Club, the Saturday barbecue, the front desk. Every date on the roster belongs to one team, and each team has its own colour on the calendar. Only administrators create teams.
- Press Teams in the menu at the top.
- With no teams yet, the New team box is already open. Otherwise press New team to open it.
- Type the Name, the word people will look for on the calendar.
- Add What it covers if it helps, such as “Opening and closing the shed, Saturday mornings”. It only shows on the team card.
- Press Create team.
The team appears as a card showing how many people and upcoming dates it has. Press the card to open it. Inside are tabs for Calendar, Fill, People, Schedules, Positions and Settings.
Note: A new team already has one place on every date, so “one person on” works straight away. If each date needs more people, or different jobs, set that up under Positions and headcounts.
Put people on the team
People join the organisation first, then a team. If nobody is in the organisation yet, add people and come back. You can also choose a team while adding them, which saves this step.
- Open the team and press the People tab.
- In Add somebody, choose the Person.
- If the team has positions, tick the ones they can do, or tick none so they can do any.
- Press Add to the team. Nothing is emailed.
Only people on a team can be put on its dates. Someone can be on several teams, and someone can belong to the organisation and no team at all.
Change it later
The team’s Settings tab changes the Name, What it covers and Colour, then Save. Renaming doesn’t change who is rostered.
An administrator can also archive a team that has finished. Its upcoming dates and schedules go, past dates stay as the record, and everybody stays in the organisation. You see what goes before anything happens, and it cannot be undone from the app.
Next: add a date.
