You said “I can do it” and now you can’t
Your date still shows I can’t make it beside it, under Your next dates and in the day panel of the calendar.
- Press I can’t make it.
- Read the Can’t make it? page, then press I can’t make it to confirm.
Your place goes back to empty and the team can see it. The earlier you do this, the easier it is for them to find somebody.
You said you can’t make it and now you can
Where your date was, it now says “You said you can’t make it.” with a button I can after all.
- Sign in and find the date under Your next dates, or click it on the calendar.
- Press I can after all.
- A message says You are back on the date. You are marked as able to do it.
From the reminder email, open the I can’t make it link again. The page says You said you can’t make it and has the same I can after all button, until the day after the date.
Note: You can only take the place back while it is still empty. On a team that fills by itself, the next person in line is put on at the next hourly run after you say you can’t, so be quick.
When it can’t be taken back
- Somebody else has that place now. The team found someone. They can still add you by hand if they need another pair of hands.
- You are now on something else at that time. FairTurns won’t put you in two places at once within one organisation.
- You are no longer on that team. Ask a moderator.
In each case, nothing changes for anyone else. If you need the date back anyway, contact the team’s moderator; replying to any roster email reaches them. See Replying to a date for how answers work, and how the next person is asked on filling by itself.
