FairTurns sends an address one email, the invitation, until a person says yes. Nothing else goes to that address in the meantime: no schedules, no reminders. If the invitation wasn’t for you, or you’d rather not join, you can make sure it is the last one.

Stop invitations from one organisation

  1. Open the invitation email. At the bottom it says “Not for you?” with a link Stop invitations from and the organisation’s name.
  2. Click it. A page headed Stop invitations? shows the organisation and your address, partly hidden.
  3. Press Stop invitations from (the organisation’s name).

The page then says No more invitations. The invitation you were sent stops working, and that organisation can’t invite your address again. If an administrator there tries, FairTurns tells them the address asked not to be invited, and sends nothing.

Note: This only covers the one organisation in that email. Each organisation’s invitation has its own link, and you don’t need to sign in or make an account to use it.

Changed your mind

Open the same link again and press Allow invitations again. The organisation can then invite you, but it has to send a new invitation; the old one stays cancelled.

Decline one invitation from your account

If you already have a FairTurns account, invitations also wait on the Invitations page, linked from your dashboard.

  1. Open Invitations.
  2. Press Decline beside the organisation.
  3. A page headed Decline the invitation? explains that you won’t be added to their roster. Press Decline to confirm.

Declining removes that invitation but doesn’t block the organisation. To join later, somebody there invites you again or sends you their join link. To block further invitations, use the link in the email as above.

Good to know

Invitation emails come from FairTurns on behalf of a person at the organisation; replying to one reaches the person who invited you. If you were expecting an invitation and it hasn’t come, see Didn’t get an email. If the setup link is too old, see A link has expired. For how organisers add people, see Add people.
