Didn’t get an emailA link has expiredTake back an answerReplying is part of Pro. On a Free organisation you still see your dates, but the buttons are greyed out. You can only answer for a place you are on yourself.
Reply in the app
- Sign in and open your organisation. Your next dates sits under the calendar and lists your upcoming turns. A pill such as “2 waiting for your answer” shows when some are still open.
- Beside a date it says Can you do it? Press I can do it if you can.
- If you can’t, press I can’t make it. A page headed Can’t make it? explains what happens next. Press I can’t make it again to confirm, or Cancel to leave it as it was.

You can also click the date on the calendar. The day panel shows the same buttons beside your name.
Reply from the email
When your organisation sends reminders, the email before a date has the same two buttons for each place you are on.
- Press I can do it or I can’t make it in the email. No password is needed.
- A page opens showing the date, the team and the time. Press the button there to send your answer.
Note: Pressing the button in the email only opens the page. Your answer counts once you press the button on that page, so a link preview or a quick tap by mistake changes nothing.
Email links work until the day after the date. After that the page says This link has expired; sign in and answer from the calendar instead. See A link has expired.
What happens when you can’t make it
- Your place goes back to empty straight away, and the team sees that you can’t make it.
- Fill will not put you back on that date.
- If your organisation has roster emails on, the team’s moderators get an email saying so.
- If the team fills by itself, the next person in line is put on at the next hourly run and asked. Until then you can take the place back.

Changed your mind? See Take back an answer. Organisers see “can do it”, “no answer yet” or “can’t make it” beside each name in the day panel. More on the replies feature.
